Develop the next gas sensing application with us

Wren Sensing is developing an optical platform for methane, carbon dioxide and ethylene sensing. We are looking for organisations to fund joint development, integrate the technology or investigate the measurement problem in a specific application.

Current stage: field testing

Methane and carbon dioxide: on-farm livestock field trials. Ethylene: controlled atmosphere fruit storage target.

Why develop with Wren Sensing

  • Built around the molecule: an engineered optical response matched to over 50 absorption lines of the target gas.
  • Already in the field: testing on a working farm, with methane readings compared against an existing methane sensor.
  • One platform, more gases: methane and carbon dioxide measured simultaneously; other combinations can be explored in a project.
  • Shaped around your need: your measurement requirements and evaluation criteria define the project.

Build around a measurement need

Funded joint development

Bring a defined measurement problem and an interest in funding its development. Together we work out the technical questions, evidence requirements and resources a joint project needs.

Technology integration

If you are considering gas sensing within your own product or equipment, tell us how the measurement would be used and the constraints an integrated solution must meet.

Sensing for a specific application

A project can adapt sensing to a particular setting and decision, with objectives and evaluation criteria built around that need.

These three can form parts of the same project.

Explore a research collaboration or field trial

Universities, research institutions and organisations with relevant test environments can help answer practical sensing questions. Tell us the question you want to investigate, the comparison method and the facilities, samples or field access you could contribute.

Start with what you need to measure

A useful first discussion covers:

  • The measurement: target gases, useful concentration range and any interfering compounds.
  • The setting: the environment, equipment or sampling conditions involved.
  • The outcome: what a successful evaluation or development project would establish.

From a measurement problem to a project scope

1. Share the challenge

Describe the application, gases, operating conditions and development objective. A short outline without confidential details is enough for an initial enquiry.

2. Explore technical fit

We discuss the relevant evidence and identify questions that would need further evaluation for your application.

3. Scope the next step

Where there is a fit, we discuss objectives, responsibilities, resources and evaluation criteria for a possible project.

Discuss a development partnership or field trial

Describe the measurement you need and the kind of collaboration you have in mind.

Name, email, enquiry type and a short message are required. Organisation is also required for commercial development and research enquiries.

Please keep confidential details out of your initial message.

For a general technical question, choose Other enquiry.

Required for commercial development and research enquiries; optional otherwise.

Use an address where we can reply to your enquiry.

Describe what you need to measure or the question you want to discuss.

Target gases (optional)

Select any that apply, if known. You can name another gas in your message.

Project objective (optional)

Select any that apply.

Include any known concentration range, humidity or interfering gases, response requirements or equipment needs.

We use the details you send to respond to your enquiry and discuss the collaboration you describe. Privacy notice.

If your email app does not open, email us at contact@wrensensing.com.

Other ways to connect

Sensor interest

Interested in a future sensor? Share the gas, intended use and any integration needs.

Technology licensing

For licensing enquiries, outline the intended application and organisation involved.

Manufacturing, scaling and distribution

If your organisation could contribute manufacturing, scaling up or distribution expertise, tell us where you see a potential fit.

For company investment or another enquiry, contact the team.

Practical questions

Is the technology commercially available?

Not yet. The platform is in field testing. You can discuss a development or evaluation project now or register interest in a future sensor.

Do I need a complete specification?

No. A clear measurement question is enough to begin; the remaining requirements can be discussed.

Can I propose a research trial?

Yes. Choose Research / field trial in the enquiry form and describe the research question, test setting and what your organisation could contribute.

Can I include confidential technical information?

Please keep confidential details out of the initial enquiry. Any need to exchange confidential detail can be discussed separately.
